The Consell de Govern (Governing Council) of the Consorci del Ter of November 9 approved the improvement and the recovery of riparian habitats of the Ter river, included in the Post-LIFE Conservation Plan of the project "Recovery of riparian habitats of the Ter river (Riparia -Ter)" executed between the years 2010 and 2013, both of the Illa de la Pilastra (zone TER1) and of the Bosc de Can Salvatella in Girona (zone TER3). On the one hand, in the Illa de la Pilastra it is planned to arrange signage and public use elements damaged as a result of vandalism, as well as installing new signaling and public use elements. The main plot of the itinerary will also be arranged, there will be different areas of maintenance, forest improvement work and invasive vegetation treatment with flotation injections of phytosanitary products.
On the other hand, in the Can Salvatella Forest, a forest improvement of the poplar is planned to be done, for the stability and quality of the forest mass, eliminating the most damaged trees to favor a specific composition closer to a forest of natural river shore, favoring the native species and gradually replacing the plantation of poplars. There will also be works to control invasive alien species, especially the damaged ones. In addition, a treatment of the poplar will be carried out eliminating dead, decrepit and / or dangerous trees, as well as those that make access or visibility difficult in the surroundings of the heliport and the Trueta hospital.
