During the year 2015 the Consorci del Ter have worked in the recovering of the riparian habitats of the River Ter in Girona, in the forest of Can Salvatella under the Post-LIFE Conservation Plan; a plan was developed to ensure the conservation of the area of action after the execution of the project "Recovery of riparian habitats of the Ter river (Riparia-Ter)" between 2010 and 2013 in the space Natura 2000 "banks of the Lower Ter" and received European funds. The Riparia-Ter project worked to improve the forests of different areas of activity through forestry works, control of invasive species and reforestation. It also recovered temporary flood zones and ordered public use.
The work in this annuity, consisted in the arrangement and maintenance of the firm along the Ruta del Ter (Ter Route), that passes through the forest of Can Salvatella and also worked in the treatment of invasive species. The Foundation Mas Xirgu has executed the works, and had a cost of 5233.30 euros, VAT excluded.
On one hand, the trace of the route of the Ruta del Ter has been cleared passing through the place, about 615 linear meters with the removal of fallen trees and waste collection. The firm has also been arranged from the new bridge of Pedret to the junction of Ter Route in the town of Sarrià de Ter. On the other hand, works to treat invasive species such as Ailanthus altissima and Robinia pseudoacacia and the three-thorned acacia Gleditsia triacanthos have been done.
