Empordà fire has affected “Illa d’Avall”

The fire was declared at 18:27 on Monday 11 November, for reasons under investigation, between the villages of Vilopriu and Camallera, was affected “Illa d’Avall” in Jafre. In the town of Jafre crossed the north bank of the Ter River south towards Foixà. The total area of 551,05 hectares has been burnt, which correspond to 34,19 Jafre. “Illa d’Avall” has been one of the areas of action of the LIFE + Nature Riparia-Ter has focused on improving riparian habitats and to control and manage access tho he banks of “Riberes del Baix Ter”. The fire occurred when all forestry work were already executed.
